Aquatics

Many of my current projects involve aquatic plants and algae. These life-sized replicas will be used as educational tools. I am currently taking on commissions for fall 2024. For more information on pricing and timelines, please contact me.

Here are a few finished pieces:

University of Minnesota:

These replicas were made for the Aquatic Invasive Species Detectors program. I made two of each species. Some are invasive while others are native. All are submerged aquatics. I included removable identification information so they could be used to test participants' knowledge. I made 26 pieces in total.

A few of these were featured on the news! Check it out here: https://www.wdio.com/ticker/ais-detectors-learn-to-identify-invasives/

Invasive Species Centre

These five deep shadow boxes all depict invasive aquatics here in Ontario. I included the Centre's logo as well as identifying information for each plant. The glass in front will protect the plants during use.

Rice Creek Watershed District

Mostly native plants and pondweeds for this fun grouping. The hand-written names were mounted below the plants this time.

Benzie Conservation District

These larger aquatics were framed in clear acrylic frames (16" x 20") with two or three species together in the box.
